Janette Lee, MD
An Ithaca native, Dr. Janette “George” Lee returned to her hometown with her family to become the Director of the Residency Program at CMC. Dr. Lee completed her undergraduate studies at Cornell University, graduating magna cum laude, before attending the GW School of Medicine. After completing a residency in Internal Medicine at St. Vincent’s Hospital in Manhattan, she joined their faculty and eventually became an Assistant Professor of Medicine and Assistant Program Director for the Internal Medicine Residency Program, where she was honored with the Dr. Richard J. Kennedy Attending Teacher of the Year award.
Dr. Lee has over 20 years of clinical experience providing primary care to underserved communities, with particular interest in women’s health, health care equity and LGBTQ cultural competence. She cherishes especially the role of medical educator, and is grateful to be part of an effort to train the physicians who will promote health and well-being to all members of our community.
