Amit Singh, MD
Cardiologist

Dr. Singh joined Cayuga Medical Center’s medical staff and Ithaca Cardiology Associates in 2003, bringing specialized training in nuclear cardiology and transesophageal echocardiography. Dr. Singh is the medical director of the Accredited Chest Pain Center at Cayuga Medical Center, the first of its kind in the region. He also serves in a dual capacity as the medical director for the Cayuga Heart Institute at CMC and as the physician practice leader for Cayuga Heart Institute at CMA. Dr. Singh worked closely with Dr. Drew Koch, chairman of the Emergency Medicine Department, to develop the Cayuga Medical Center STEMI team, a rapid-response team focused on immediate assessment and treatment of patients with heart attack. He also very much enjoys his role as clinical instructor in medicine at Weill Cornell Medical College, teaching medical students and medical residents who rotate through the Cayuga Heart Institute.

In his free time Dr. Singh enjoys spending time with his wife and four children by staying active in their church, “creating in the kitchen,” jogging, swimming, and cheering for his two sons at their football, basketball, and lacrosse games. Born a Buckeye, he enjoys the Cleveland Cavs basketball team, Cleveland Indians baseball team, and Cleveland Browns football team (although he does have a soft spot for the NY Giants). Dr. Singh tries to watch these teams, as well as his “true loves”; Syracuse University basketball & Ohio State football, whenever he has the opportunity.
